I won’t pretend to be perfect…

OK, so I’m like totally being bad about not getting to bed at a decent time… and yes, I am getting closer to meeting my other goals so I can restructure my life into a “normal” setting.  It may please you do know, I do have another group I’ve joined to help me stay on target in my “home schooling life.”  So pretty much I’m being surrounded by friendly, supportive types in all areas.  God is VERY good to me!

One thing that I think will help tremendously is that someone just gave us a computer, and my computer whiz of a dear husband fixed it up real good so that it’s 3 times faster than my old one!  (He’s so awesome… I think I should like to marry him when I grow up! )   Now maybe I can get all my stuff done before the sun comes up!  :)

rn

Honestly, I couldn’t resist shooting you all a big THANK YOU for all your many kind words of encouragement and congratulations.  I don’t know how Jo got all those dazzling “thank you’s” on her posting but all I can say is “ditto!”

I reached another mile stone today.  I was doing the “Ultimate Tae Bo Boot Camp” routine and there is this part that I used to just stop and march in place or take that opportunity to go get some water, or go to the bathroom, ‘cuz there was NO WAY I was going to stand up, then squat, jump into a “push up” position, then jump back into the squat and stand up again for two counts of eight!!  Well, today I did it!  ALL of it!  And BOY does it get your heart rate up!  But I was quite pleased with myself.  I’m even counting out with the group now, which I didn’t do before.  I figured I’d get more out of it if I pretended that I was a part of the back up crew on the DVD… or auditioning to be one.

rn

I’ve also been enjoying studing my cultural backgrounds with my daughters in our home school (I have quite a diversity going on back there).  We’re incorporating it into our homeschooling groups’ history fair in 8 weeks.  Anyway, we are sampling foods (among other things) of these backgrounds and we’re doing our Italian heritage right now.  I gotta tell ya… I am SO LOVING these studies!!  . Last week I surprised the family by getting an Italian treat for desert:  BISCOTTI… I won’t describe the kind I got for fear it may make your mouths water.  And yeah, I ate most of them!  They are frickin’ good!!  But I know not to continue therein ‘cuz I surely don’t like going backwards in my progress, in any area of my life.  So if I like something that much, I just won’t keep bringing them in the house.  I’m not much for laying stumbling blocks in front of anybody’s feet… especially my own!

rn

DH is starting to make a LOT more complimentary comments about my re-emerging physique (please remember, my weight gain has been fairly recent in our relationship and neither one of us ever really got used to it… but he just got very quiet about it).  But it’s cool to get an email from his co-worker stating how he’s talking about me at work, too.

rn

Also, I don’t know if you all are taking photos to document your progress, but BELIEVE ME please, it helps SO MUCH!!  The days I don’t feel like I’m getting anywhere, I just look at my photo from before I started and it’s like, “WOW!”  And after that I’m good.

rn

OK, OK so my aunt keeps telling me about sleep cycles and how the body repairs itself and how crucial sleep is… so I guess I oughtta get goin’.

rn

Thanks again… and I’ve reset my mini-goal to the next 30 pounds.  Two more of these 30 pound mini-goals things, and I’m done!!  Well, you know what I mean… you’re never really DONE… you just have something else to work on.  I’m not on a diet  (I think of that as the word DIE with a T on the end of it… no offense to anyone who is… it just doesn’t suit my lifestyle… I hate anything that leaves me feeling boxed in.)

rn

So anyway… I can’t quite see the sun yet, so it’s good that I shove off before I do…

rn

Looking forward to seeing us ALL cross the finish line!

    Hey Jenn,

You sound like you’re doing great. I’m so happy for you that you’ve got such great support in your life. It truly does make a difference, doesn’t it??

Your workouts sound like they’re getting better and better! Congrats on that! You are such an inspiration to me!

BTW, my doctor told me that not sleeping can and does contribute to weight gain/obesity, so your aunt is right. BUT, I think you’re on the right track there too.

I have to agree with you on the die T think, lol. I have been on SOOOO many of them, and I always LOSE a bit and then gain it back plus some. My doc said to do the moderation thing and to try to put more fruits/veggies in my diet, and of course to exercise. (LOL, I just saw her yesterday, which is why I’m apparently quoting the heck out of her, lol).

Anyway, congrats on planning your new mini goal. I am sooooo happy for you and so proud for you! Keep up the great work!!

    Hugs,

    Angie

Leave the clothes in a closet to look at later to dispose when you reach your next goal!
